Golf Trip App: Teams, Matches, and a Live Scoreboard for the Whole Weekend
Trip Mode in AGI Golf runs a buddies trip end to end: invite the group with one link, draft the teams, play matches with handicaps applied, and keep a live scoreboard that follows everyone from the course to the couch and the clubhouse TV.
What does an organizer actually have to do?
Less than the spreadsheet asked. Create the trip, send the link, set the sessions and formats, and pick a draft night. The app carries the roster, the handicaps, the pairings, the points, and the standings. The one job that stays yours is settling the argument about who gets strokes, and the app shows the math so that argument is short.

How does draft night work?
Captains pick on a clock while everyone watches the same board from their own phone. Only the captain on the clock can pick, the pool shrinks as players go, and the teams are set the moment the last name is taken. It is the part of the trip people talk about for a year, so it is built to be watched.

How are matches scored?
Each group scores its own match hole by hole from a phone. Four-ball, scramble, and singles all work, and the handicap allowance for each format is applied automatically, so a scramble does not hand out full strokes and a singles match does. Match play counts in holes, the way it should: 3 up with 4 to play, not a stroke total.

Where does the score live?
On every phone, on a public trip page anyone can open without an account, and on the rental house TV. Standings update as groups post scores, with every match behind them and the points to clinch across the top.

Does it still track my own game?
Yes. Every trip round is also a normal AGI Golf round, so it counts toward your handicap and your stats.
Questions golfers ask
Does everyone on the trip need the app?
Players do, because each group enters its own scores from a phone. Anyone else can follow the public trip page and the TV board with no account at all.
Which formats does Trip Mode score?
Four-ball (best ball), scramble, and singles match play, with the standard handicap allowance for each applied automatically.
What if we have an odd number of players?
The draft can add a ghost player so the teams come out even and every session pairs up. The organizer decides on draft night how the ghost seat is played.
How do we get everyone in?
One invite link or QR code. Each player taps it, joins the trip, and their handicap comes with them.
What does it cost?
Each player uses their own AGI Golf account. AGI Golf starts with a 7-day free trial, then an AGI Plus subscription. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
