Put the Golf Trip Scoreboard on the TV

A live board on the clubhouse or rental house TV is the single best thing an organizer can set up. The score follows the trip from the course to the couch, the arguments move from "who is winning" to "who is choking," and nobody has to ask.

What you need

A TV with a web browser, or any laptop, tablet, or streaming stick that can open a web page. Wi-Fi at the house. The board is a plain web link, so anything with a browser works.

How to set it up

From the trip, open the TV board. That creates a link for the board. Open that link on the TV's browser and leave it. The board updates itself while matches are live and keeps the screen awake. No login on the TV, ever.

What the room sees

The two team scores and the clinch number. The live round's matches as they stand. When nothing is live, the board cycles through the rounds that are done. On the last night it shows the final and the trophy. There is a code in the corner so anyone in the room can get the app.

Things that go wrong

The TV browser sleeps. Some TVs sleep no matter what. A laptop or a streaming stick with a browser does not.

The board shows an old score. A match updates when its group enters scores. If a group is behind, their match is behind. Give the group a nudge, not the organizer.

The link stops working. The organizer can make a fresh one from the trip at any time.

Where else it works

The same link works on a phone, so the group chat can watch from the course, and the wives can watch from home.
